April Ahn, MSN, AGACNP-BC is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner who specializes in Dermatology. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. She worked for 6 years in the intensive care unit as a Registered Nurse before obtaining her Masters of Science in Nursing degree with honors from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Upon graduation, April began her career as a cardiology Nurse Practitioner where she worked with many patients who had dermatologic comorbidities in addition to their cardiovascular disease. This sparked her interest and passion for dermatology. She has since undergone over 3000 hours of specialized training under the guidance of leading plastic surgeons and dermatologists and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her practice. Before joining Pinnacle Dermatology, she was a clinical lead in her former dermatology practice where she worked with her colleagues to institute evidence-based safe and efficacious best practice.
She has a special interest in skin cancer detection, cutaneous vascular disease, acne, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, hair loss, anti-aging, and holistic cosmetic treatments with natural results. April is certified in injectables with filler and neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin), RF-Microneedling (Morpheus 8), scar revision and hair restoration, Kybella, biostimulators (Sculptra, Radiesse) and lasers (IPL, Clear and Brilliant, ND-YAG).
April’s philosophy is firmly rooted in empowering patients to be active participants in their healthcare and skincare journeys through prioritizing patient education and communication. She believes in normalizing self-care and using her clinical knowledge and training to help patients achieve optimal skin health.
